They do have selections of stations by genre which is handy, but most of all is being able to sort by location is an interesting feature. Selecting a different station seems to start it playing again. The radio functions work, but sometimes I encounter white noise when restarting a stream. That sort of info I would hope is in the metadata that comes with the Tidal stream. This was something I was hoping for, as during times I want to listen to Jazz or Classical I'd like to list just those genres. Unless it's something I've missed, I cant seem to filter Tidal favourites. So far there's some hits and misses IMO with the way the app operates. More tomorrow if there's no show-stopper bugs. I don't know if some of these features are already present on other players, but the improvements in sorting and managing playlists are welcome. I'd imagine HD is interchangeable with our use of the term hi-res, and it does an analysis of the audio and seems to indicate if the track is really hi-res or just upsampled redbook. ![]() I hope this extends to things like Tidal favourites (please please please). This time I could see some of what's in store with the new design and it has me encouraged.Įnhanced sorting. Maybe that's what was playing in the background during the announcement last weekend, I had glimpsed some things but wasn't sure. At that location when I scrolled to the bottom a video autoplayed and it was showing some of the new UI features. So as I wait in anticipation for the release, I went back to the Audirvana site /studio and looked around again.
